Default upper intake vacuum question

Hey yall,i put a 3/8" steeda spacer on my '02 GT yesterday, and when i started it up i realized i left the vaccuum line on the back of the plenum unplugged (towards the firewall),well the thing is,besides surging, the car sounded like it had cams in it,so,because of boredom,i left it off, unplugged the TPS and IAC sensors, and set the idle screw so it smoothly idled, sounds awesome i have a vid if anyone wants to see it,but i was just wondering if anyone knows what this vacuum line is for? if it's not important i may just put a breather where the hose went everyone at work thought i put cams in my car lol

Put the hose on. Car will run like **** and run lean. That spacer won't do a da_mn thing for performance either. Worked a carbs but not on fuel injection. But it is your car do WTF you like. There is usually a I grenaded my engine thread one or twice a week and it is stupid stuff like this that usually causes it.

You don't adjust the idle screw either. Da_mn you are gonna have a mess. Sucks to be you.

I know the spacer doesn't do jack for performance,i got it because it was on sale from DM so i won't have to worry about clearance issues when my new plenum and VC's get here. The hose is back on,i was just wondering what it was for.

A valve cover made for the 4.6 application will fit without it unless they directly call for such a thing. And there are onlt so many aftermarket cover and they don't need that thing.

Sounds like you have got a few things to learn. I would leave your car alone till you or someone you know has the ability.
