Default BLOW ME

I have a bone-stock 2000 3.8 with 18K miles that I love. I am thinking of buying a 99 GT with 50K miles with a Vortech blower on it making 357 RWHP 361 RWTQ @ 8 psi. My 3.8 is my daily driver and I don't have a budget for upkeep. Are Vortechs pretty dependable? What kind of tuning/upkeep issues can I expect? I will not drive the blown 4.6 like a maniac. Very civil.

I've been a post ***** for some time, now I need for this forum to be meaningful. I'm not sure what to do. I have a buyer for my 3.8 straight up - guy told me he'd pay me what I needed. I'm pretty sure I can get the 99 for 15K. Kelly Blue Book says it's worh this much

Any thoughts would be welcomed!

wow a 99 GT with only 50k miles... thats really good, 15 is a good price but still try to get it for less... there is always room for bagaining. well vortechs are a good name from what ive heard... get the charger installed properly, get a dyno tune , and if u drive normal i think it should be just as dependable as a stock GT etc... this is what i THINK... lets see what some other people have to say

Thanks, Brother Dan. This is exactly what I am looking for. The 99 is a one-owner, too. 15K is pretty good. Blue book is right at $10K, but the guy has like $10-12 in it. We'll see.

the blower, dyno runs, complete custom exhaust, cobreau seats, AutoMeter gauges, wheels, tires, kick-*** stereo, etc. Dude tells me he has all the reciepts. I've seen a few of them. And he's honest, so I believe it. The car is tight as far as I can tell. My main concern is drivability and dependability. I need to be able to point the key at it and have it go - that's what my 00 gives me now.

for sure. The blower was installed at 47K. Most of the 2.5K has been test and tune. And the guy doesn't have a timeslip for it. He said he's never taken it to the track or street raced it. I like what I'm hearing from him so far. That's why I'm here with you fellers. I need to talk to the ones that know.......

Wow thats hot. an s/c 99GT. maybe he did not race it at every street light but the reason to have a blower is to win races. I personally dont believe that he never ran his car hard. THen who would ever admit doing that when selling a car It sounds like a good buy if under $12500 cuz i bought my 99GT exactly a year ago and i paid $8600 for it w/ 42,500 miles Bone Stock that was a great deal.

IF I get it, and I mean if, I am going to lowball him. That's the only way. I'm a deal maker not a deal taker. $12,500 would seem a smidge low because the car is in excellent condition and it's had a lot of mods
