No, fenderwell intakes dont perform very well with upgraded maf's and since i plan to upgrade the maf i dont want to run into problems, its a straighthough design much like the Steeda, has a filter with a heat sheild, its actually perfect for racing at the strip because i can take out my right headlight and have direct air flow to the intake....awesome for the price..very happy with it

i learned from these guys plastic intakes r better cuz they dont absorb nearly as much heat as the metal, although metal does give u some flash under the hood. but after all ur buying an intake for HP not bling

true. i never show off under my hood ( although there is no bling under there to show off ) cuz its not like you drive around with your hood up so the only time to show it off is at the track when cooling under your hood off but your there cuz you want to show off HP not looks and i never enter car shows though i like to attend. i also learned alot from here with many things including intakes. thanks to MD and JD and others too.

I think I'm leaning towards the K&N intake now and not spending the extra 100 bucks on the tunable induction. If I get the K&N do I need to get a MAM to maximize the intake? What have you guys done who have the K&Ns?

Here, take it from somebody who has tried them both on a dyno...i went to a shop to have my car dyno'd when i got my intake put in...stock i put out 220hp 261 torque...densecharger232hp and 277torque, K&N 237hp and 278 torque, i have the dyno sheet around here somewhere as soon as ifind it i'll post it up, i have a K&N breathing under my hood [8D]

so the K&N you put in gave you about 17 more RWHP? is that the kit on this webpage? http://www.performance-air-filters.c...ake~parts.html

K&N 5725193 Cold Air Intake $206.47
Ford Mustang 1996-2004 .Fuel Injection Performance Kit.

if so, sign me up! 17HP seems like it'd be a tad noticable. i've been meaning to get a new intake. i was going to get a new midpipe. the local shop was sold out of their catted H's AND catted X's. they carry SLP catted X & magnaflow catted H, both sold out. THE NERVE!

Yeah I think that's the right kit. To everyone who got the K&N intake, did you just get the intake or is there a way to upgrade the MAM too?
