Anyone know a ball park price on buying a 4.6L out of a junk yard? Also, those of you who build and modify engines, are 4.6L ok to work with or difficult compared to others?

 

At a pick your part yard around here you can get an all-aluminum 4.6 4V for $275.00, most typical salvage yards typically charge a general price for engines. Specialty places that deal mustang parts tend to charge more because they know what they are dealing with.

 

About $100

My complete 5.4 was $120 but there was a 98 4v 4.6 for $100 there too. I should have just bought it to have it . . . .

 

could have built a sweet motor with that block... How much power can the teskid block handle?

 

4.6's are a bitch to work on imho, but that doesn't mean I don't love my motor!

 

you guys must be talking about just the block? Surely your not finding these complete engines for that price.....
