Default Replacing Motor

All right, I have to replace the engine in my 97 GT. I was wondering if anyone could recommend where to get one. I have checked out Jasper and some others like them but don't know much about getting a remanufactured engine. I could use some suggestions and ideas. I am kind of on a budget (under 5K) but would love to upgrade from the stock 2V and this is my DD. Thanks for your input.

Default RE: Replacing Motor

I am replacing the motor in my 2000 GT (spun a bearing). I am having Promar send the block to my mechanic. (free shipping) $2300 Base price.
Check out this link
http://www.promarengine.com/productdetails.asp?ProdId=464&SP=--

I am also having them put in forged pistons and connecting rods (I plan to eventually put a blower on) so my total on the engine is $3600.

I have been quoted anywhere from $1000 to $1500 for the engine swap.

Need more info. Do you need a WHOLE engine for 5k or just the block?

For just a shortblock, check VT engines, DSS or MMR

FYI: the pricesI mentioned are for a remanufactured long block: Oil pan to heads, no intake manifold.

Go to www.car-part.com and get a 99 and up 4.6L. You will so much happier than putting a non PI back in your car
