looking on my dads 98 GT - the door tag specifies the AXLE as MU - what the heck is MU ? also the ratio or R is 8 ? what the hell is that?

we looked in the chiltons book and it doesnt list anything for MU or 8 - the 8 is listed for 1994 models for a 3.45 rear but on the stamp of the axle it says 273. so what is it?

nevermind i poked around and ME stands for 3.27L ? so it has a 3.27 with a limited slip? i thought autos only came with 2.73's in 1998 - also i could of sworn when i checked the tag on the pumpkin it said 2.73 so.. what is it? i mean the car spins both tires at the same time - we're just trying to figure this all out

as in reference to the R code it says mach460 with am/fm yet ours has the cd player - so why does it list it as 8 instead of 9? is the whole tag f'd up or what

still wondering about the rear end and why it would have a 3.27 limited slip in the rear and not a 2.73 or whatever came stock with an auto GT... unless the tag is wrong on the door. dad owned the car since it was new with 6 miles on it so he sure didn't swap the gears...
