IAC Mod?? confused?!
I just found a rubber hose that barely fit inside the hose to the iac. Cut about a 2' piece and shoved it in there. It worked perfect and only took 2 minutes to do. You can see the bulg where it is clamped to the CIA.

Cliff!!! Thats the ONE solution I've been so desperately searching for! I made 3 different caps, and each worked to drop revs, but it idled way too high! Thanks buddy, that little note really helped out! LOL.
Time to try it with the batt. disconnected. Cross your fingers! [8D]
BTW: What six pack did you have? My dad and I are going to restore a '71 Hemi- Barracuda. I think it has the six pack. Thats a sick fuel delivery system,I gotta say.

Does tail pipes have any affect on the Idle hang? I had cut mine off at the back of the mufflers and had them off for a while then I put them back on and almost imediatly discovered a bad Idle hang. Any correlation, Or am I smoking bat $hit?
My vote is on just coincidence.
And again, to any of those who may still think this is going to make the car run rich and you'll get bad gas mileage...
The hanging idle's function is to burn off excess fuel when you close the throttle (and it makes shifting a little easier). It's really emissions control. The IAC is a variable valve, the computer controls how far open it goes. (I got the impression Cobrastang thought it was a fixed opening) When you restrict it, you don't allow it to open enough to keep the idle hanging at higher RPM's so the fuel goes unburnt (there's your rich mixture) and your RPMs drop quickly.
The rich mixture is very short term, about the amount of time it takes for the idle to drop. Under ANY throttle or idle, where the IAC is not at full open, your final mixture will be normal. If you didn't do this mod, the ECU would simply be burning off that extra fuel, holding the idle up, instead of it getting dumped to the exhaust.
