Default Broken Stud

I was bored the other weekend and decided to paint my brake calipers. Well idk what i did i must have tapped the thread on one of the studs with the wheel or somthing but when i went to put the wheel back on the nut would not go on. I didn't think about it cause it was hard getting off. Well anyways the nut wouldn't come off and i ended up breaking the stud. My mechanic said it'd take 1/2 to fix. Well he made it seem simple is it somthing i can do myself or do i need special tools and if i can do itmyself where can i find the stud.

it's an easy fix, i've never done it on my car but all you should have to do is pull the rotor and hammer the rest of the stud out of the hub and replace it with a new one
