Default A.C. trouble.....

Well today i was on my way to Whataburger and i had my a.c. on. All of a sudden the a.c. cut off and started blowing hot air. Now when i turn on the car with the a.c.on it idles real funny. Jumping from 750rpm to 1000rpm. When i turn it off the car runs fine. Anybody have any idea what this could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it sounds like your ac is cycling it does this when it is low on freon, check your freon level. i have the same problem i have a leak somewhere so i just add a can until i can get it fixed.
