2000 GT

It is a scanner like this.

http://www.actron.com/product_detail.php?pid=16153

Will this work with my car? It says Ford 1981 and newer. My dad uses it on his 2000 Ford Taurus.

On the driver's side of the dash center console, down by your right calf/knee. The ODBII standard requires that it be within 3 ft. of the driver's position--most manufacturers are now placing it on the left of the center console (or what passes for a centerconsole)...

Thanks. I dont think this ancient thing is ODB II compatible. I guess I am going to have to go buy a new scanner.

You are correct that is a OBDI scanner will not work on your car. And how does your dad use it on his Taurus it shouldn't even plug in? And if your supercharged how did you get your car tuned with out a hand held tuner?

All cars sold in the US have been required to be ODBII compliant since the 1996 model year, some late production 1995 models have ODBII. Your 2000 GT certainly is...

I'm sorry, I misread the link and didn't realise it was the scanner that was ODBI (senior moment)...

I think my dad just "thinks" he used it on the Taurus lol. The ECU was tuned by Paxton. Does a predator tuner work like a code reader? Can I check codes, erase them and everything with one of those tuners? Or is it only for tuning?
