Default Headlight problem

It all started last night. I was drivin around town made a quick stop and started to leave. I put on my headlights and my gauges were not glowing. I was able to use the dimmer for the radio etc. For the rest
of the night they were off but I did try one last time to turn them on. I turned the headlights on and off and
the gauges turned on. wierd[:-]Now they wouln't turn on. I think this ruled out a fuse. Could it be the headlight switch? Oh yeah if it helps it a 2002 gt

To clarify, when you pull the switch, your headlights and taillights will light up, but your gauges will NOT light up, correct? Have you looked at any connections? Maybe one is loose.

My first thoughts would to be pull the switch & check the wiring harness going to it. I've seen my fair share of them burn up.
