ummmm....ive been shocked hard as hell and others have been killed or seriously injured by 12 volts........

You could literally wrap copper wires around both terminals and stick them in your mouth, and then jump into a swimming pool after smearing yourself in copper paste and it wouldn't matter. Its 12 volts, it simply cannot hurt you.

RE: anyone ever REPLACED BATTERY themselves?
If I was going to mount my battery upside down I'd buy an Optima, other wise...no way the warranty is short.
Who makes Optima batteries? Johnson Controls
Who makes Die Hard batteries? Johnson Controls
Who make Autozone batteries? Johnson Controls
Consumer Reports rated the Autozone Duralast Gold #1

if you get a bad shock and you got it going through one arm and out the other you should go to the hospital and get urself checked out cause that went through ur heart and could possiblely through ur heart beat off, even if you feel fine 30 min later you could be dead.

Also...
1) 12V will not shock you unless maybe you were able to get your tongue out long enough to bridge it across the posts. Please.
2) A capacitor is used to handle ONLY the spikes in current draw needed for big stereos. It provides a quick burst (like a milli second worth) of power and then is discharged. Then it quickly recharges before it's needed again. It will do nothing to fix a charging problem.
3) If a battery is so dang easy to replace, then why not just go with a small, lightweight, Wal-Mart special for $29? Got one in all my cars and the worst one died after 3 years. You guys are wasting $!
4) There are only 2 or 3 battery manufacturers. I haven't checked lately, so I'm not sure anymore, but they used to be Johnson, Delco and Exide if I remember right. I'm sure I've got the details wrong, but the point is, the dealer batteries are all basically the same.....which are the same as you buy from the parts store.....which are the same as you buy from Wally World.
