Default JLT RAI heat sheild on or off??

My JLT RAI is being shipped now ive have a ebay cold air that when my car was hit the messed it up so i cut it off and it hasnt felt as strong since. Maybe its in my head but if you saw it in person you would know what i mean it looks terrible. But anyway ive noticed in pictures that some people run the it without the heat sheild. Does it really make a difference? It seems that it would let more air in but that would be hotter air that what it would get with the heat sheild.im guessing that it really doesnt make a differenceim not really expecting much gains anyway but i just want somethign that looks better and i figure it may help some since i have cams in the car.

I'd say put it on. If you don't like it you could always take it off, and while at the track you could try it both ways to see if there is a difference. I doubt there will be, but it looks good on IMO.

Keep your heat shield on. So not all of the hot air coming from your engine goes into your motor. You want fresh air not hot air.

I left mine off only because the stupid plastic pos would hold in the shaker inlet tube so it'd just keep popping out.

Thanks ill probably just leave it on and ill try pulling the headlight out when i go to the track. It sounds like its about the best intake made for our cars so i hope im pleased with it.
