mac h pipe , painting?

I bought some high heat primer and high heat black paint. Do you think it's a good idead to paint the mac o/r h pipe so it doesn't rust? or atleast as fast?

Well Im not painting my shorty H...hmmm
I did paint my exhaust on my 66 though...hmmm
I mean it couldnt hurt it...Im not even bothering since I live in Arizona...
