So is a dyno a bogus number for actual hp and torque? Since now you have so many variables such as tranny, axle ratio and even what gear they test it in? If I go to 3:73 or 4:10 that doesn't make my motor more powerfull. I imagine it would increase the torque at the rear wheels. So maybe the dyno results doesn't really tell you how powerfull the motor is. Then if different manufactures test hp in different manners the numbers are in a since bogus. Where is the standard?

Our numbers today are SAE numbers, I believe back in the day they were gross hp numbers. I'm not 100% sure though.
