If you don't know what coolant is or how to replace your thermostat, you should really reconsider doing anything besides filling up the gas tank (with gasoline). Read your owners manual, buy a repair manual and start studying.

engine coolant = antifreeze. Dont let these kids discourage you. True you should do some studying, but everybody learns best from hands on experience and making their own mistakes. g/l and hope you acquire some knowledge about mantaining your car.
Definitely, read the owners manual/repair manual and always use one for reference when working on something new in/on your car
