grinding 2nd sometimes
Hey people just wondering sometimes when i shift to 2nd pretty hard and fast, i likes to grind. T45 tranny, steeda trixax shifter. I feel like the flywheel is spinning too fast or something. Anyways the stock clutch is on the car and its not in the best shape, I have a new clutch by kingcobra. My question is that is the sync gone, or the cluch just not catching fast enough? Let me know thanks MFrs.

Grind on a T-45 means the syncs are out, and it means now almost no matter how easy you are on it its going to evenutally break.
Either pull it now, replace the syncs, and then have it happen all over again or wait till it blows and get yourself a 3650, Tko, or T-56.

Sounds like synchros, but it also sounds like it'll last you a long time if you treat it right. If it's not grinding while driving normally, things are fine, just a bit worn.
Just about any gearbox will grind a bit if you're slammingthe gears really hard.

mine grinds when I "speed shift", but doesnt make a noise while "power shifting" (unless I miss a gear, then eeewwww) go figure . Synchs are going bad buddy, that above mentioned. Ride it out till it breaks, then upgrade, or go agead and get it fixed now before something else breaks.

I lived with that for about 2 months until it eventually further broke and was only capable of going in 1st or N...
Now I have a remanufactured t-45 with upgraded parts and royal purple. Very nice!

Why not just throw some new synchros in it? If you don't have a press, you can buy one for a couple hundred bucks. A basic rebuild kit is really cheap and you can dothe complete jobin about 4-5 hrs.
