Default 1998 Mark VIII 32V

My Mark VIII has started having electrical problems. Nothing major, but since Ford doesn't make many of the modules anymore it is getting tough to keep her on the road reliably.

It's a crying *** shame too because mechanically the car feels good for another couple hundred thousand miles.

How hard would it be to swap my 98 32V Lincoln motor into my 02 vert?

I know the power upgrade would be worth it. But, coming from a classic mustang background, the electrical necessities of the modular engines is still something of a mystery to me.

thoughts? comments? suggestions?

man those engines are awsome, if I'm not mistakin they had an aluminium block also... so it would lighten up the engine abit to. I don't think it would be too hard but I'm not a mechanic so i can't tell ya.

good luck tho with the swap

I'd like to know the same. I came across a Mark VIII motor in good shape and would like to put it in my 97gt. It came out of a 94 Lincoln, would that be an aluminum block like you say too? Power upgrade would be nice coming from my non-pi GT!! Anybody know much about these???

aluminum blocks are good, but you gotta let them warm up before you get on them. aluminum loves to contract and expand more than a cast iron block and arent as strong as cast iron. good swap though
