Default Pinion Leak please help

I recently changed my gears and after I drove it I noticed the pinion was leaking. So I took it back apart and changed the pinion seal. It still leaked...so i just took it back apart it seems like it is leaking past the seal by the flange and running down the bottom of the housing. Does the grey seal looking thing on the flange need to be tight up against the seal or am i missing something here?

The grey seal is just a dust shield. Did you put in a new crush sleeve? Did you set the pinion load right?

I put a new crush sleeve in. I am beginning to wonder if it didn't crush. I put a 3' breaker bar on it today and gave it all I had so I will see if that worked.
