ok i have a few questions. my dad is buying a 95 grand marque with a 4.6 and we are gonna swap it into a 89 notch. what all stuff can i use or do i need to get like k member, rear end, trans, driveshaft ect.. im a 5.0 guy and i know nothing about a 4.6 ive just seen it done before and we will have a complete donor car.
well he wasnt really gonna build anything other than freshening it up its just a play toy so all that stuff wouldnt be done
Sounds like alot of work for just a play toy! I have a 97 GT 4.6L and will never buy another mustang again because of the stupidity design of the OHC set-up. You have to remove the top of the motor as you would a pushrod, but then you must take all of the accessories off the front timing cover just to change one head gasket! STUPID! I wouldn't do the Grand Marque because they only have 190hp and 240 lousy ft/lbs You will be evry dissapointed! Your better off getting a 96-98 GT non-pi motor! Stock 5.0L has more hp and much more tq! You can buy a used 5.0L that will drop right in for cheaper because you will spend so much wasted time fitting everything! I wish I could go to the 5.0L, but emissions has me by the *****!
