To get optimal performance and to cover your ***, you should degree any set of cams you put in your car. Granted, its more of a must when you deal with Comps because of the advance ground into them.

VT stage 2, with comp springs and adj cam gears, thats my plan anyway....

Go with stage 1 if you are not going to do anything else.
Stage 2 if you are building the whole motor.
Blower cams if you plan on supercharging
Its unrealistic to try to buy a cam now in planning on building the motor later. If your build the motor, your going to want a custom grind, or at least more than a stage 2 cam is going to offer.

i have found 2 really good deals on vt stage 1 and comp 262ah camshafts. which of the two would i be better off getting? my 00 gt has a stock bottom end, whats the largest cam i can go with? all info appreciated
mind telling me these really good deals you found for a vt stage 1 cams!? :]

hey i don't know anything about engine.
what do you mean by degree?

The cam timing should always be set or "degreed" during installation to ensure the engine runs properly and to avoid contact between the valves and the pistons. The rotation of the cams has to be timed correctly in relation to the crankshaft. There are some really good cam threads on here that can explain it way better than I can.
