trickflow lower mani
does anyone know for certain that the trickflow lower intake manifold is a direct oem replacement assuming you buy the plenum with it? it looks like its about the right spot and i want to possibly buy it , but not without knowing my throttlebody and intake will still match up. side note: i wanna get some stage 1 cams , but i can't decide between crane and crower and vt. advice would be appreciated. thank you!

If you are talking about the new one for the 4.6 then it is said to be a direct bolt on piece.
It is a one piece with both upper and lower intakes (no need for a seperate upper plenum). It looks like a bullitt intake actually.
It also says it uses a 75mm throttle body.
Curious to see what gains if any this will put out.

I installed it myself, and it is a direct bolt on replacement. The only thing you have to modify is the EGR tube, and the kit comes with the necessary parts. The manifold actually comes in three pieces and you have to put the upper on after the lower portion is installed on the engine. Make sure to pick up some manifold gaskets though, the kit doesn't come with them. And I would highly recommend putting locktite on all the bolts/studs holding the manifold together.

thanks guys , i had another question. i heard good things about VT cams but i'm having a hard time finding literature about them. someone give me a linke? and i was doing more research and i'm thinking about going with the patriot billet cams. i'm worried about the lift , .545/.550 , can our stock valve train handle that? i was thinking that , because i want to keep the lsa alittle more down , i wanna stay N/A for a while and they are 113 lsa , thats the lowest i can find!! am i looking in the wrong place?

www.vtengines.com is the site for VT products.
Not sure about the grinds that Patriot are doing but I have emailed Scott at VT and it basically boils down to this.
Our stock heads can handle Stage 1 cams and you do not need to replace the springs. I was told that a tune would be beneficial but not totally necessary as the engine will still run fine but you can squeeze some more hp/tq out with a tune..
You can go with a stage 2 cam as well but you need to replace the springs and a tune is mandatory.
You could also check with Modular Powerhouse. They have a reputation for doing very good custom grinds on cams as well. www.modularpowerhouse.com
There are lots of threads on cams that you can search out but there is also this sticky that you may have already seen.

Good Luck.
