cobra is 99. I bought it from a millionaire who had like 20 cars. He garaged the car, so it was 2K when I bought it last summer. I thought the engine had been broken in, so I drove it hard couple of times.

mmm... not like it matters, but what year is the cobra? just curious.

RE: Burns oil!
try a different oil, and do a compression check, fat nick could be right

Your ****ed, he either sold the car because it was ****ed up or never drove it. Which would explain why it's now broke. It wasn't used to that type of driving.

RE: Burns oil!
It's not your valve seals...if it were your valve seals, it would only smoke on startup....Leaky valve seals let oil down into the engine while it's just sitting there, and that oil gets into the combustion chamber. Then you go to start it up and "poof" the oil burns off in a blue haze.
This sounds like your rings.
If it were the headgasket, the oil would be white and have a sweet smell to it, because that means you are burning coolant which is what a leaky head gasket will do.

RE: Burns oil!
First: Is your oil level dropping? If not, might be condensation, does it smoke after the engine is warm (and it's not cold out)
Second: Feel inside your tailpipe, should be black oily residue if your truly passing oil..
I agree, synthetic is NOT a player.
Seems odd its your rings at only 6k, also agree with the compression check, that will tell you a lot.

Looks like I'll have to perform the compression check.
