if you look at your air filter, its the stupid rubber piece that is connected on the left side going into your fenderwallthat serves no purpose.. doesnt add power with it on, doesnt add power with it off.. i just took mine off cuz i guess all of the cool kids are doing it[8D]

The opening in the air silencer is smaller than the opening in the T/B so it would be a restriction.Removing the screen from in front of the MAF will give a couple of HP also.I trimmed my air silencer and removed the screen and picked up a couple of MPG,so it is a useful and free mod.

no offence but you must be one of those people who think stickers and big wings give you hp? And if you noticed a couple mpg better, you must be driving it different. Anyone else notice better gas mileage cuz i know i didnt notice anything AT ALL and its not a restriction by any means, most cars dont even have one of those it technically brings in more air but not enough to notice anything with it on or off. Also, the holes on my shaker are smaller than my tb, are you trying to say my shaker is a restriction? try again!!!

do me a favor, go get your car dynoed, then put your silencer back on and do it again and show me the difference.. until then dont make this guy think hes gonna notice a difference by taking it off!!!

and before you open your mouth and talk bad about the shaker just because youre mad that your scoop is a stick on, educate yourself!!! it may not add 15 horse but it definitly adds a little bit bud!!

WRT the silencer, there have been tests that showed a minor gain on some cars a minor loss on others and no change on others.
Try removing it and see if it works for you. If not put it back.
As for the screen, leave it alone.

Here is a pretty good article that shows an improvement by removing the silencer.

http://www.musclemustangfastfords.co...5mmff_boltons/

I'll see if I can locate the one with the slight loss.
