Yeah I'm going to be doing it now too. I'm just confused right now because my stuff is yellow, I bought green and I've read that if any yellow is left in the system after the flush and fill that it will turn thick. I've been petrified to mess with it yet. Still doing research.

Radiator fluid should be flushed every couple of years at least. This keeps the anti-corrosion properties of the fluid fresh.
Use steam distilled water and a bottle of Red-Line water wetter.

In 2002 Ford went to G0-5(the yellow crap) for both trucks & cars, which is an extendedlife coolant. They say for G0-5 its an initial 100-120K mile service, and service is every 60k after that. Before that they used the regular ol' green which is about every 50k reguardless.

And yea, if you're moving from green to G0-5 or vice versayou need to flush the whole system THOROUGHLY to get all the green out. G0-5 + green = a huge problem.

I need to flush mine, and I think it's going to be the one time I let a shop do it. I don't think theres much easier of a job for a shop to do, and I don't have anywhere to do it. I'm in an apartment and I could use my parent's garage, however my dad is whiny and doesn't even like a drop of anything on his garage floor. It's too big a pain to try to drain it, refill it, run it through, and drain it again, then bottle all that crap up. I can't imagine they would charge much for it.

60-100 depending on what type of fluid they use.

As an engineer the word "universal" bothers me.
So does the word "emulates".

In my experience, both generally mean "doesn't work as well as"....

Buy the Ford stuff or an exact equivilant.
