Default steeda x2 balljoints and tire wear

hey im tryin to get a straight answer here....ive been lookin all over, here is my situation.

i lowered my car with the pro kit(1.5 in) and got it aligned. the problem is the insides of the fronts are bald....the tread on all of them is down and i need new tires anyway. but i dont want to be going bald on the insides anymore what do i need to fix this? I heard you do not need c/c plates until after 1.5 inches so i SHOULDN'T need those. my friend has H&R springs(1.8 in) and he has no problems. he also has the steeda x2 ball joints....woudl i be straight and everythign cool if i got the ball joints and got another alignment too? it says the ball joints fix the steering geometry by moving the control arm to line up with the pivot point of the ball joint, would this help with my problem? if all this doesnt make sense then ask me, im going to call steeda tom. and see what they have to say. the reason i want them if they work over the c/c plates is because they also lower the front a lil more and that what i want a LITTLE bit more in the front. so thanx for any information or thoughts/ideas

-Pat

I disagree with the theory of over 1.5 you need c/c plates. You NEED C/C plates with ANY lowered spring!!! The factoryc/c plates are riveted and aren't adj.Yes X2 balljoints will raise your geometry back up to par, but only for cornering and Steering. They will allow you to avoid installing a bump steer kit. The tie rods are adj and fix "toe". The C/C plates fix that tilting in of the tires!

well when i got it aligned they popped out the rivets and put new ones in after they aligned it, so i know thta they are adjustable to a certain point

Yikes. before you know it, you'll have 20 holes in there and they won't beable to get a rivet to hold! dude, just get c/c plates and you'll be happy! I have 1.5" upfront and the c/c plates barely made enough room for proper adj

Lowered 1.5" without CC plates you will only be able to adjust the camber to about -1.2° to -1.5°--this is at best border line re: tire wear, and at the extreme of the factory spec (-0.5° +/- 0.75°). This is why your tires are worn (along with incorrect toe-in probably). You can usually getthe camberto -1.0°by using a rat tail file to extend the slots outward by 1/8" to 3/16"or so, however I wouldn't make them any longer than that as you will be compromising mounting strength of the strut tower to some extent.
