I've been looking at the Steeda or Motoblue series underdrive pulleys (and leaning more to the Motoblues) but I was wondering if the UDPs would be any problem with the Mach 1000 audio system? I could drop the subs and amps for a little extra lightness but my GT is already a convertible sowhat's the point,plus it's a great sound system. All-in-all would the UDPs allow enough power to run the audio system and say, my lights, power steering, etc. together?

 

a/c + headlights + complete aftermarket stereo = no problem.

 

I have UDP and have no problems with my a/c or power or anything. I dont have aftermarket subs, I do have a headunit though.... but there is nothing wrong with my electrical at all. It really doesn't affect electrical as much as you may hear.

 

my buddy has an 01 with mach 1000 and the crappy piggyback UDPs and has no problem whatsoever

 

Hang on, why in the world would UD pullies have an effect on the power output? The pullies are still spinning at the same RPM's aren't they? I don't understand that line of thinking.

 

Just did BBK underdrives today with piggyback (retarded)damper, car runs the same. Only difference I noticed was when I put the car in drive (Yea Ive got an auto...I know) from park the volts run a little low, and car idles a little lower, but once you're going nothing other than normal. Honestly felt no difference, but I guess with other mods it all adds up. I wouldnt buy new, way over priced. Buy from someone used, who just put a supercharger on, I paid $40 for polished BBK

I think that problem is more the eariler model mustangs (Foxes), with them having to upgrade the alt. when using udp's.

 

The alternator and water pump pulleys are bigger, and the crank pulley is smaller. The crank pulley will spin the same speed (since it's the pulley driving the belt), but the water pump and alternator will spin slower since theyare bigger around.
