bolt from Plenum to manifold broke off
Anyone here got any techniques to removing a bold that broke off between the plenum and the manifold?...Was screwing the plenum in when the bolt broke off. I beleive there is still some bolt left over above the manifold. If I leave it without the bold, will i be losing any boost from my supercharger setup? Please any help will be appreciated.

your engine may idle roughly, loose some pressure, something along the lines of an air leak. If there is still ome the bolt above the manifold, take the plenum off, grab some vise and try to unscrew it and go buy a new bolt.

thanks for the quick reply Ghostrider. I never knew what the torque specs where so I was hand tightening the bolt, i guess i never knew my own strength. oh and you know anywere i could get those bolts?

dealership, sure they are overpriced but you know they should always work, and they should always have it or able to get it quickly. I personally cant wait to get rid of my plastic manifold, I leave everything so lose from fear of breaking it. I did a tune up on my buddies 02 gt and whoever did it before overtightened the coil pack bolts. When I went to remove them, the jaggered edge nut on the manifold broke free and started spinning. I had to break three coil packs off and replace them, what a giant pain....ugh

remove the plenum, then stuff a rag down into the intake manifold to make sure nothing gets in there. Try the vicegrip thing, or even use a small screwdriver and see if you can work the bolt out by spinning it with the tip of the driver.
If there isn't enough bolt to get ahold of sticking out (may not be) then your going to need something called an "easy out". Its basically a drill bit and another bit that looks something like a screw.
Your going to have to use the drill bit to drill thru the bolt, then use the easy out to remove it. Its going to be really easy to mess up the intake manifold with it being plastic, so be super careful to only get the bolt itself, not drill thru it into the intake, and make sure you don't get any shavings down into the engine.
Good luck, hopefully since you broke it off tightening it maybe it will come out easy.
