RE: gears
I remember one member writing a huge write up on the different gearings. I think 4.10's pulled harder in general until like 115 and then above that the stock 3.27's pulled harder. Not sure of the exact MPH's but I think that is about right.

RE: gears
You'll get there faster so long as you have decent rubber on the tires. When I went to 4.30's and was still on cheap street tires, I just spun a lot. Ran faster at the track, but not by much due to lack of traction.

RE: gears
Im thinking about going with 3.55 or 3.73s because i'm trying to beat a GTO right now so i need to still have my top end. I just wish ford put 6 speeds in the stangs, we would have such a better chance at racing ls1s. On a 3rd gear pull i hung with the GTO. they say they're car was red lining at 90 mph, and since mine redlines around 100 thats why i actually didn't lose that race. BTW it wasn't really a race, but we did both floor it in third, and i didn't get beat my the GTO like everyone says should happen. lol.

RE: gears
look the 4.10 is going to pull harder then a 3.73 period at any range, the reason he stated it didnt pull hard past 115 - is because the car shifted into overdrive, so its not that the 3.73 eliminates that - it wont. when the 3.73 goes into over drive - it will get smoked by the 4.10, untill you run out of power (around 155-160)... so dont get confused, dependant upon mods the 3.73 can be faster in the 1/4 because of not shifting into 5th (or overdrive)... but past that the 4.10 continues to be faster, if anything the 4.10 pulls harder on the highway, the only thing making it have a slower time in some instances is shifting (bad shifting or xtra shifting)... but case in point a 4.10 accelerates faster then a 3.73 period all else being equal
