99 swap

Default 99 swap

i have a 99pi engine in my garage , what is better , do a pi swap or just drop the 99 engine in my 96 , and can i use the 99 engine with the 96 wiring ?

Well, the engine swap would probably be easier and cheaper. The heads and PI intake swap would produce more power due to the increased compression ratio though. If you go that route youll need a head changing kit though (extra $$$). You shouldn't have any issues with the wiring.

I'd go with the engine swap it leaves ALOT more options open for you.

i agree with MVR. Drive your car around while accumalating parts, and building up the 99 4.6. Then drop it in over a weekend. lol.

yea id say take off the 99 heads - have them cnc'd and built
then put them on your car for the mean time

then take the 99 motor and forge it over time - then drop that in with the heads you had already built and your ready for FI
