Problem with Oxygen Sensor
My Service Engine Soon light came on several days ago so I took it to autozone to find out why. So far I have had no problems with the engine misfiring, or any difference in the way the car runs. According to the troubleshooting reciept they gave me it could be several reasons. Heres what it says:
The PCM has determined that the input voltage from oxygen sensor 2 in bank 1 is too high for current operating conditions. (Oxygen sensor 1 is closest to the cylinder head before the catalytic converter, while oxygen sensors 2 & 3 are located further downstream and are typically mounted in or after the catalytic converter) (bank 1 identifies the location of cylinder #1, while bank 2 identifies the cylinders on the opposite bank)
Definition: H02S 12 circuit condition (heated oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 2)
Explanation: The powertrain control module uses the oxygen sensor to calculate the air/fuel ratio in the exhuast.
Probably causes:
1. Oxygen sensor defective
2. Fuel system running very rich or lean-check other codes first
3. Engine misfire condition-repair
4. Fuel pressure very high or low-level pump or pressure regulator
What I really need to know is if I could easily fix it myself or should I take it to my mechanic.

First I would replace the O2 sensor. Then clean your MAF sensor unit. (unscrew the black box on top and clean w/ rubbing alcohol) Then check your plugs. this stuff one at a time so can narrow it down incase it happens again!
I had the exact same code pop up after i installed my o/r h with mils. was p1151, bank 2 sensor 1. Funny thing though the autozone i went to mentioned all possibilities with the EXCEPTION of o2's, i was like, erm, i have a bank 2 sensor 1 o2 malfunction yet it points in every other direction first. praise the sun a few of us think for ourselves and I just replaced the sensor giving off bad readings, 110 miles so far and still no light.
