The 04 intakes are fine, sure it sucks for juice or FI, but for stock, the plastic is fine. As long as it has the aluminum crossover, which it will, its good. The only pain about the plastic manifolds in reference to plugs and COP, is that when some jack **** overtightens the bolts holding down the COPs and when YOU try to unbolt them, the nut captured in the plastic manifold becomes uncaptured and starts spinning....PITA!! Luckily my plugs were virgin and I made sure they were not tight at all.

I don't think there is anything wrong with an auto. And really, you have one clutch disc in a manual vs a clutch pack of 4-5 discs doing the same work constantly lubed in oil to prevent glazing. If you service an auto every 25K - 30K mileswhen you're supposed to, it'll last a long time. I have a 99 GT with an auto and I've got a heavy right foot. I like to manually shift the transmission once in a while and occasionally I'll get on it in 1st gear and bark the tires shifting into 2nd. I just had mine in for service a couple wks ago with 84K miles and they said everything is perfect inside. They didn't see very much wear and don't expect it to need anything major for at least another 100K miles. I'd say it's really a toss up just whatever you want to get.

Thanks, very encouraging. Do you have a tuner that changes the shift points or is it stock?

I don't have a tuner or anything that changes the shift point. Everything in the transmission is stock as well as the torque converter. But by me manually shifting the transmission, it allows it to build up more pressure and when it shifts, the clutch packs slam together just like you would be dumping the clutch on a manual. I've talked to several different transmission specialist and instructors about the manually shifting and they gave me mixed opinions but more of them said it doesn't hurt anything.

I would stay away from manually shifting an auto unless u have a manual valvebody. If u r racing an auto, just leave it in drive cause u will NEVER out shift the computer if its set up properly. All I can say is that my new converter/trans cooler and tune on a load bearing dyno made my car run 10x better than a stock converter ever could. Whatever trans one has, just make it perform to its potential.

I've got an Auto. I looked for a stick for awhile and gave up. Everyone with a stick thinks he's a professional racer. Every one I test drove had bad 1st and 2nd synchros...I even found some with bad 3rd gears.

Besides, there is nothing like hitting 2nd gear at40 mph and leavingdual 5 ft+ black marks. I am positively scared of my car in 2nd gear when it's wet out. Now I need to get me programmer and dial in the shift points

The only time I truly miss not havingstick is when my buds are around. But I fix that by dropping it into 1st vice Drive and I can burn the tires at will just like someone dropping the clutch.

I say it's a lot more fun to row through the gears but that's just my opinion.

You know what dude, if you want an auto get an auto and if you want a stick get a stick. Dont worry about what everyone else thinks. When it comes down to it its your car and your the one who has to drive it. I personally enjoy my auto and i dont regret not getting a stick. Ill save that for when i get my cobra.
