I was told Hawk pads really only work well when their paired with a good set of rotors. My Hawk HPS pads and iRotors will stop my car in a heart beat. Their slotted and cross-drilled, but you only really need that if you race it. Its mainly for looks.
Yeah but even then, slotted+drilled rotors won't be the save all. I know I've warped mine [8D](I can recall the incident too... it was below freezing out and an idiot in a mini-van pulled out in front of me, I had just started driving, a 60 mph - 0 stop on icecold brakes, that'll do it).

ive got the cobra stock fronts and only hawk pads on the rear... pretty soon once they actually get some wear on them and need replacing, the brake setup will slotted drilled with the hawk hps pads.
