Default no flywheel dowls = vibration

i just found out that i didn't put dowls on the flywheel when i installed the clutch and thats why i have vibration. i took the flywheel to carquest to have it resurfaced and the guys didn't put the dowls back on, and they didn't tell me. i think they should have at least told me the dowls weren't in there or something. i guess i have to blame myself too..

man it sucks because now i have to take it all back apart to put 3 cent dowls in there. unless i could convince my boss to let me do it at work on my day off then i have to do it in my garage again and it sucks so bad. plus the starter bolts are messed up and the studs i made for the top of the bellhousing will be tough to get out, actually impossable because i put loc-tite on them. just goes to show that once you think your prepared for something you need even more precautions.

**** i took the clutch cover off the other day to change my midpipe and a little 1/2inch to 1inch round piece of metal was lying in it, is this a dowel?

probably but you should be fine as long as the bolts are tight. the dowls are for aligning the pressure plate, once the bolts are tight it wont move on you.
i think i have an idea, maybe i could loosen the bolts and put the dowls in without taking the trans and bellhousing off. what do you think, can it be done?

it is a slight vibration noticable at 2000 and up. i guess the dowls are required because if the pressure plate is slightly off there will be vibration. i can feel it very well through the shifter.
