Default remove my AC

Whats up guys. I think im gonna remove my AC compressor today. How hard is it? I bought a bypass pulley and want to install it, im tired of my belt getting ripped. anybody gone through this before?

It's not hard at all to remove the compressor. You need to have the refrigerant vacuumed out first, though. I've never had a problem with belts. Why do you think deleting your AC would fix this? I couldn't live without my AC. [8D]

yeah how are you so sure its the ac causing your belts to rip? whos installing the belts? you? are you POSITIVE your putting them on correctly...because putting them on wrong will cause problems like that.

I'd look at the belt tensioner first.If there's not enough "give" in it you can break belts.Then look to be sure the pulleys are lined up correctly.They should run straight with no wobbles.

yeah im sure its the ac because it will freeze up randomly and spark. its gone now


does the A/C delete add any power to the crank?

First thing, are you positive you want to remove your a/c or do you just not want to have to buy a new one. I know I can't stand not having a/c. I had a Envoy that the a/c went out, and my wife made me drive it like that through 1 more summer. And it sucked. But at least it is getting cooler now
