Default Question about P&P

I'm curious, those if you who know about emissions, how much would a P&P job on heads impact my car's ability to pass emissions? I have the PI heads at my house but not installed yet and now I'm thinking about either sending them off to be ported or buying a set of Patriot or Fox Lake heads, but I live in CA so it has to be emissions legal, and I'm honestly not sure how a good P&P job would affect that.

mabe someone else will chime in here but it should no way effect your emissions. unless u put really agressive cams or LT's.

Yeah... Im thinking it wont affect it much at all. I mean... guys are pushing a lot more exhaust (richer than NA also) and they pass emissions. I dont know why heads and cams would make you fail.

Well I know some of the higher stages of cams will not pass emissions, so that's why I was wondering about P&P because it increases the airflow into and out of the engine. I'll ask a few professional P&P companies but thought I'd try here first to see what people had to say.

Yeah... but think about it. P&P will increase the flow but you will NEVER flow more exhaust as NA as you will with an FI setup. Not unless you run some really high compression and some really big cams with some really oversized valves.

LOL good call. Believe me wherever I move when I leave here it will most likely have to be in a non-emissions area because I hate limitations. Sh@t if it wasn't for emissions I'd probably have a fire-breathing 351W in my GT putting about 600 HP to the wheels.
