Default New Seats?

Fantasizing of getting rid of my cloth seats for leather seats.

First, would my only options be other Mustang seats?

Second, if a seller sells seats without the tracks, would it be a pain in the *** to have to re-use my current seat's tracks?

And finally, has anyone had any experience with just getting their cloth seats taken to an upholstery shop? I'm also considering getting something for heated seats for the colder days.

Aftermarket racing seats are lighter weight.
A good upolstery shop can custom fab a set of seats for you. They can even custom fit the seats. This isn't cheap though. You might find some leather skins to replace your cloth seat skins with.A fairly simple job with a hog ring tool.

I'm browsing e-baymotors, and just wish I had some extra cash as of now.

if you're going to go to the trouble of replacing your seats, I wouldn't suggest getting the same thing you have now but with leather.. our seats suck imo. I slide around everywhere... get some nice looking aftermarket ones that keep you in one place and look/feel good too.

I wouldn't go leather, man. In luxery cars, yeah, they're nice. But if you drive agressively at all in Mustangs with leather seats, you slide all over the place. I know, I have some and I used to have the same dream you did. My last car had this mesh material for the seats. It was kind of a sporty thing, but it worked really well and I didn't ever slide around. Granted it was a Corolla, buy you get the idea Get some aftermarket seats that aren't cloth, but not leather either. Go with that mesh looking material. It has more friction for you to stay put in the seat and if I were you, I'd get some with the option to add a 5 point harness. I'd love to have that for those days when I feel like letting loose in my car. That's what I would do.

My mach seats hold me in pretty well. My GT seats sucked though. Maybe check out some Mach or Cobra seats if you want a semi-stock look.

+ 1 on that one. The stock leather seat is about as cheap as you can get. They feel more like Vinyl than anything. There are lots of aftermarket coversavailable.Katzkin is a good site to check out.
