Default Head Problems

Hi, I just did a PI swap on my 97 mustang with used heads I got from an 03 GT. Everything is fine except the large amounts of oil that shoot out the back of both heads. What did I do wrong?

You are not going to want to hear this...

You have the heads on the wrong side. I'll try to find out the link of what I'm talking about...

I can't find it... There's a bolt in the back of one of the heads. If you have oil that is shooting out of one of the heads from the back you have the wrong head on the wrong side.

Thanks for the reply!
Turns out that one of the oil gallery plugs was removed from each head. Thank God that they are only 3 dollars a piece from the dealer. So have you put heads on backwards 96GT?

No, Thank God! I just did a lot of research when doing my PI swap and I remember someone telling me something about what happened to you. You are right, though. The little plug that goes in the back of the head. As far as I remember you only need one, though. I may be wrong. Glad to see it was something simple. My PI swap was a nightmare! ... I made good power, though. I put down 72 more hp to the wheels with a stock PI swap and tune. I only have a cat back, mid pipe, 70 mm throttle body, and an intake. Good luck with the swap! You'll love it!
