11 inch clutch in GT...
Good day all!!
I tried the search, but for some reason I am not smart enough to figure out how get the word "clutch" to turn up any results... So, here is another clutch option post to add to the hundreds of others...
Here are a couple of pictures of what is left of my TO bearing... Since the fingers of the clutch were in actual contact with this stationary TO bearing, I am going to chuck that in the recycle bin also... Ahhhhhhhh, but what do I find on the shelf in the garage?? An 11 inch clutch package, including flywheel from a long lost project that ended up getting sold... So, now that I haveyou all boredto tears, here is the question... Will the 11 inch clutch fit, with no other mods needed?? I don't want to dump a ton of money into other mods just to get the 11" clutch to work... I have a normal size spare that I can use, and the original clutch is in amazingly great condition, considering what happened to the TO bearing... The pilot bearing fell apart also, and will be here tomorrow...
Thanks for your time and advice all!!
Cheers!!

RE: 11 inch clutch in GT...
If you have an 8 bolt crack (99 PI), you could go with this kit and it includes a flywheel:

I have a 97 with an 11 inch flywheel and clutch disk. Works fine for me, very strong actually. I'm not sure if any other mods were done as it was the guys at the shop that installed. However, seeing as they're kind of lazy, I doubt too much work was included with the install. You should be good.

RE: 11 inch clutch in GT...
I have a 96 GT... I know my user name says "SVT" but that is just cause the SVT emblems were put on the GT by the PO... I just haven't gotten around to taking them off... Anyway, thanks much for the info and personal experiences!! I think I am gonna try the 11 inch set-up I have... If I have to go to a solid quadrant and adjustable cable, so be it... If I can get the factory stuff to hold long enough to do those two upgrades a little later on, I'll be happy!!
Thanks again all!!
