If you drive your car year 'round I'd get a stainless steel system, otherwise aluminized will do. Flowmasters sound the best IMO, but MAC is a good choice if you want stainless.

Ditching cats might get you 2 hp.

aight im in the same situation im lookin for a exhaust cat-back, in the research i have done the best for the lowest price is the american thunder by flowmaster they have a 2.50in tubes and 3 in stainless tips, so my question is will these sound nice, and also will they be a good choice performance wise, beacause all the borlas are a little too much for my budget, but i do want something that is good both in sound and performance wise. i would appreciate the comments to feel more confortable in my exhaust purchase.

honestly guys, if just making the car a bit meaner sounding while keeping it tame enough for day to day driving. and if power isn't your goal, and you are just going for sound, your most affordable route would just be to replace the mufflers with something more free flowing like flowmasters or some of the others suggested.
