I installed an oil separator on my breather line yesterday. No oil in the resevoir yet. Still loosing oil though. No spots under the car, no smoke from the pipes, but when I park in my garage, the horrid smell of something drifts into the house and gives me a headache if I don't close the door. Last night some stranger followed me home just to tell me how awefull my exhaust smelled.

Before installing the separator, I used to get a puff of blue smoke at startup if the engine was warm but had been off for 30 mins.... no smoke at cold startup, no smoke while driving. I was blowing specs of black shi* out the pipes from

I was using about a quart of oil every 300 miles.... even with zero boosting. The engine was recently rebuilt, and broken in without any boosting in the first 1000 miles. The shop that did my motor did a leakdown test and said that all cyllanders were fine. The shop has a great reputation.

Will a compression test tell me something that a leakdown test would not?
