I've had some work done on my 98 Cobra and I have a few questions. Here's what I've done so far:

1. DSS Super-Pro Bullit Short Block B. Forged pistons, 4340 forged steel H-beam connecting rods w/ ARP rod bolts, race prepped forged crank. Includes ARP main studs and has been blueprinted, torque-plate honed, deck equalized and checked for alignment.

2. Performance Value job

3. Vortech cool air induction super-charger (approx 13-14psi) w/ Sure grip blower pulley.

4. Performance throttle body

5. High performance clutch and 411 rear-end.

6. Re-built suspension including control arms and frame stiffening (it's a convertible)

My questions;

1. What kind of oil should I be using. One guy says 20w50 and another 10w30.

2. What's next for my 98 Cobra? I have not replace the exhaust yet but plan to next year. What else would you do if you were me?

I'd just go with a good synthetic oil. Can't fry that stuff. Good in extreme heat and flows down to -49 degrees. Mobile 1, Royal Purple, Amsoil, Redline, take your pick. 10w30 in a synthetic should be fine. I use Mobile 1 in my Aurora's Norstar 32-valve engine and Royal Purple in my '98 GT. If you are in the neighborhood of a Pep Boys, they sell a wide variety of synthetic oils. Their price for Royal Purple is only $1 per quart more tha Mobile 1. Sometimes you'll see Royal Purple as high as $8.99 to $9.99 a quart. Pep Boys price is just $5.99. You can also run higher drain intervals with synthetic oil and it keeps the engine totally clean within "new parts" specs. You'll get higher rpm's and increased HP with synthetic as well. Not a bad investment. Good luck! Oh, ya, use the best filter you can find.
