Default Exhaust Question for newb

Hey guys. I looked around forhelp but I couldnt find anything answering this question. Im new to the mustang scene but I love it. I bought my 03 GT recently and want to mod it a little. So far it has a short shifter and CAI. My question is this: Is an X pipe the same as a cat back? I know it sounds dumb and I have been working on cars (mainly 4cyl) for a few years but this im not sure of. any help with explainions would be appreciated. - Rob

No. X and H pipes get their name from the overall shape of the piping. They are midpipes that go between the exhaust manifolds and catback. Your stock midpipe is a catted H pipe. O/R means off road, no cats.

A catback refers to the piping and mufflers starting from the end of the mid pipe out to the tail pipes at the back of the car, including the exhaust tips.
