Default Stage 2 Spec Clutch?

I'm thinking about putting a stage 2 Spec Clutch on my 04 GT. It says on Spec's website that Spec clutches require a Spec flywheel and clutch cable. Does anyone know if thats true? or have other suggestions on clutches?

You can use your stock flywheel and stock clutch cable.

+1
they just say that so you will spend more money on their products. just get ur fly wheel machined or hit it with a grinder if you dont want to take it off.

I have a spec stage 2+ in mine. I still have the stock flywheel and clutch cable.

What mods do you have to make you think you need a stage 2 clutch?

The stage 2+ is a great clutch. It doesn't chatter any and it's rated for 630 lbs of torque. It's really easy to push the pedal as well. If you have future plans of power then I say go ahead with the stage 2. There's no sence in going smaller if you have a supercharger or nitrous in your future plans.

Agreed. Even if you don't have the power to require such a strong clutch(but plan to in the future), throw it in there anyways. Take it from me. It is VERY frustrating to put FI on the car, just to get out to the track and have a POS factory replacement clutch slip and slip and slip some more. Do it once, and do it right.

Have your flywheel resurfaced, and you are good to go.
