Just drill out the stops and run them through the pins so that your hood sits on top of them so that it sits right!

John
+1... Same thing as putting rubber gromments on the pins, what ever works.

Measure them, but see what happens first after you got the pins in, you may not need to do that...
When you adjust your pins, they need to be pull the hood down so it won't come up at all.

You may not need them as the side fender hood stops will keep the sides from coming down, and the hood pins and latch will keep it from coming up thus keeping it where it needs to be. Atleast that was how it was with every car I had with hood pins.

i pulled the stops out and closed it without any stops and the whole hood sits in low...idk what you mean by side stops, but the sides will sink....ill just install the pins and then figure out what to do about the height....

1/2 to 2/3rd of the way down on each inside of the top fender sits a 1"-2" funcky shaped piece of rubber that keeps the sides of the hood from coming down too far on the fender inside, that is what I'm talking about.
You can see it right above the air box on the inside fender.

BTW.....why do you have to weld the nut in? Can't you just thread a nut under the radiator support where the stop was before and thread a nut on top and tighten? I have an '03 GT so it may be different butmine has a square hole where the stops go. I'm about to install some hood pins so I'm thinking that if I just run a fender washer and nut under the the top of the radiator support and one on top and tighten it dwon it should be fine. It's not like there will be a bunch of stresses put on that area anyways!

My '99 is all boxed in and no accress to that area to do that unless I would. Those instructions I posted above that have the nuts welded in have the same apperant problem, no access.
