Default Which Is The Correct Paint Code?

So the paint is all of a sudden flaking off the roof and hood of my '94 mustang... I have gone to my local canadian tire and bought every single white ford touch up paint and not a single one of them matches... So i wised up and looked at the paint code on my door, It says ZF. So i went to some other places and couldnt find a white paint code by the name of ZF. So i have been lookin around on the net and according to many websites the paint code is a Cyrstal White ZR.... So which dang paint code is it? ZR or ZF? Whats is really called?

ZR = Ultra White (95-01 Mustang)
ZF = Ultra White (94 Mustang only)

They are both called Ultra White, but they do not have the same formula. Both are only on Mustangs and the ZF they only used in 94. That's probably why you can't find any touch up paint.

I'm a paint tech at a Ford dealership

dont go buy the code alone, get it matched with a light meter and a respectable paint shop, esp on a 94, if you just go buy the code the colors will not match AT ALL!

Ifyour touching it up it's not going to exactly match anyway. It's a brush vs high quality spray gun situation. Your only saving grace is that it's a solid color and not a metallic. If it's flaking you're wasting your time. It's just going to get worse. Touch up paint is meant for small scratches and rock chips.

EDIT: Motorcrafttouch up paint is junk anyway. I used it once and will never again. We touch up with the paint we mix.

In addition to that, for every paint code there could be up to 7 or 8 different alternates. Unfortunately for touch up paint, there aren't any alternates. You'd have to take it to a shop and have them mix up the right alternate for you if you want something close.
