Is it not coming off because i need a tool or is it just being stuburn? its an 04 gt if that helps.

Yes you do need a tool to pull the filter. Go to any auto parts store and ask for the fuel filter tool and the guy will give you a package of 5 or 6 little plastic rings for around $4 or $5 bucks. You slip the plastic ring over the fuel line and then into the fuel filter and it will release the fuel line. Hard to explain but when you get the tool you will understand.

That tool works a lot better. The plastic ring ones are just like that, except without the handle part. They're a real pain in the *** to work with. I threw mine out and bought one of those.

Once you figure which size you need the little plastic rings aren't that bad.

I changed my filter on my 97 GT a while ago and neded no special tool. I did get sprayed all over the face with gas, so I would suggest depressurizing the system first. Unplug the fuse to the pump and let the car run out of gas. If that tool keeps the lines clamped then you will be ok, though.
