I bought a new IAC since mine was bad since the rpms were dropping and i figured to buy a new one than clean it. I put it on and it threw the IAC code again. its a band new IAC from Wells. any other ideas why my code keeps getting thrown. It comes back on after about 20 miles of driving

check IAC connection. Get a piece of sandpaper in there to freshen up the connectors. Are you using the OEM gasket or a smaller one?

 

did you ever reset it after you put the new one on?

 

yes i reset it and it came back on and yes it is a smaller gasket for the rpm hang to go away i dont remember the code

 

If the hole in the gasket is too small it could create the symptoms you describe, put in the stock gasket and see what happens...
