Default SCT Tuner

I am going to convert my96 GTfrom an auto to a manual. A guy near me has a manual and he is swaping his to an auto. He said I could use an SCT tuner to bypass the PATS system. Does anyone know if this is true, or if I will need anything else?

You will need a wiring harness from a manual car.

Not saying you are wrong, but what is different from the manual and auto harness. The tranny connections just all lead to 1 connector, and I can swap the tranny connections.

I would just sell your car and get a manual. I think this would be easier.

Ive done it 2 other times, both on fords. One was a 5.0L transplant into an SN95 which was straight forward, but I used the fox ECC and wiring. I also did this on an escort, in which nothing ECC or wiring needed to be changed.

The only thing I dont know about is the PATS. I have heard you can bypass it by running a new wire from the ignition switch to the fuel pump, but would rather just turn off the PATS with a tuner if possible.
