sounds like that old weber setup. bad for torque, but back then that wasnt a prob cuz of the massive ci. however, with a 281, i would advise against it unless its just for show.
but where it may be bad for torque(if it really is), it cancels that out because of the great throttle responce it gives.

maybe so, maybe no. ive only seen this style run once on a 327ci '73 camaro show car. he complained about tq lossand thats just what ive always heard about it.it very well could be benificial to some, but seeing as how most of us mustang guys love torque, just sounds bad to me.

they use these alot in the drifting world with big turbo cars for the throttle responce and it helps your boost numbers if i recall right.
great if you need to have all of your power in .0001 seconds but its a trade off for torq without a f/i setup. as far as the 281ci (4.6) goes it doesent flow near enough to need 8 throttle bodies. a single 75mm one is more than enough i think. iunno my .02

it would take a LOT of tuning, runners tooshort and you put the power out of opperating range, too long and you give out too quickly. theres sound accoustic testing you can do to tune the runners. you would also loose the low end torque due to a ramming effect in plenum style intakes. when the intake valves close, air that was once vacuumed into the combustion chamber loses its path and rams the backside of the valves where it builds. a properly tuned intake will take advantage of this and sucked this rammed air in on the next intake stroke. not to mention air velocity would play a roll in the power band.
